The Academic Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) has commenced a 2 months strike. This phase of the strike was announced on Monday 14th 2022. Note that the Union had earlier announced a 1 month warning strike and chose to add 2 more months because of the Government’s poor response.
With this strike announced, the question comes to mind. When will the 2022 ASUU strike end? And what demands must be met for ASUU to call off the strike? All things being equal, the ASUU 2022 strike will end on the 6th of May, if the Unions demands are met.
The federal government has only addressed 2 out of ASUU’s 8 demands, including the visitation panel to federal universities.
When Will ASUU Call Off the 2022/2023 strike?
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced 6th May 2022 as the latest Official date to call off STRIKE 2022.
This means that ASUU will call off its two-month Strike on the 6th May 2022.
However, if the Federal Government fails to meet ASUU’s demands the strike will not be called off and it will be INDEFINITE.
The last time ASUU embarked on a strike (in 2020) the strike lasted for 9 months after the Federal Government met the Union’s demands. The only guarantee for resumption of schools is meeting the demands of the Union.
Most students are fed up and wish to get back to school but it’s important to note that the strike will not be called off till ASUU’s demands are met.
From the response of the Federal Government so far, things are looking very complicated.
Despite not being hosted for 3 consecutive years, the Cowbellpedia Mathematics Competition remains the most breathtaking and anticipated mathematics competition in Nigeria, with thousands of student participating. 2. National Mathematical Centre (NMC) Mathematics Olympiad
The National Mathematical Centre (NMC) Mathematics Olympiad falls second on our list. This competition is probably popular because of its grand prize. Each year, winners get to represent Nigeria in a stipulated foreign country. The 2022 finals will take place in Oslo, Norway. Those who represent the country also get an opportunity to study in any African University of their choice.
The state prizes include medals and certificates while winners at the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), which is the grand finale, get cash prizes, medals and scholarship opportunities.
This competition is open to all private and public schools in Nigeria and accepts JSS1- SSS2 students.
3. IYMC (International Youth Mathematics Challenge)
The International Youth Mathematics Challenge is a high profile African Mathematics competition held every year. The registration is performed via the official IYMC website.
The grand prize for the competition is N300,000.
This competition is open to all private and public schools in Nigeria.
Cruxlearning Mathematics Contest Nigeria is an Annual Secondary School Mathematics competition designed to identify and reward excellent students and help them rely more on critical thinking to solve everyday challenges. Enrollment and participation is totally free.

You don’t need to travel to write the qualifying examination. The Examination is fully online and can be written in your school, home or any convenient space. You have a choice of three (3) days to pick from (between 8am -6pm) to write the examination.

Interswitch SPAK 2022 Exam Date and Format and Guidelines (Interswitch SPAK 4.0)
Interswitch SPAK has announced the date for the 2022 Quiz Competition. This year’s Interswitsch SPAK registration is open till May 11th, 2022.
Online exams will take place from Thursday 19th to Saturday 21st May. Students have a choice of 3 days to pick from between 8:00am-6:00pm to write the examination
Quick fact: Did you know that SPAK means Speed, Perseverancse, Accuracy and Knowledge?
The Exams will be written online. A quick breakdown of the Exam format is below: Students will be tested in Subject 4 areas- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The Exam will consist of 100 questions.
A pre-test will be available for students to get familiar with the website after which exams will commence. Students are allowed to take the pre-test only once.

Do away with the fear: Interswitch SPAK past questions are not as tough as people think. You just have to understand time management. The truth is most of their questions are basic and are drawn from the familiar secondary school curriculum. In a subject like biology for instance, all you need is the modern biology and essential biology textbook together with past questions from WAEC for practice.
For mathematics you need your normal mathematics textbook like MAN Mathematics- following the mathematics curriculum, for chemistry New School Chemistry and Physics- New School Physics.

9. Airtime and Data Sales

Never have I felt so accepted while being an outsider, so proud of a country that isn’t even mine, so part of something I didn’t belong to.

Before coming to Germany I feared judgment based on my level of the language (which is nowhere near as good as the German students’ English) and American politics.

“If you can’t live off of it, it is useless.” My parents were talking about ice skating: my passion. I started skating as a ten-year-old in Spain, admiring how difficulty and grace intertwine to create beautiful programs, but no one imagined I would still be on the ice seven years and one country later.
Even more unimaginable was the thought that ice skating might become one of the most useful parts of my life. I was born in Mexico to two Spanish speakers; thus, Spanish was my first language.
We then moved to Spain when I was six, before finally arriving in California around my thirteenth birthday. Each change introduced countless challenges, but the hardest part of moving to America, for me, was learning English.
Laminated index cards, color-coded and full of vocabulary, became part of my daily life. As someone who loves to engage in a conversation, it was very hard to feel as if my tongue was cut off.

Only at the ice rink could I be myself; the feeling of the cold rink breeze embracing me, the ripping sound of blades touching the ice, even the occasional ice burning my skin as I fell—these were my few constants.
I did not need to worry about mispronouncing “axel” as “actual.” Rather, I just needed to glide and deliver the jump. From its good-natured bruise-counting competitions to its culture of hard work and perseverance, ice skating provided the nurturing environment that made my other challenges worthwhile.
Knowing that each moment on the ice represented a financial sacrifice for my family, I cherished every second I got. Often this meant waking up every morning at 4 a.m. to practice what I had learned in my few precious minutes of coaching.

I encourage them to expand their horizons and take pride in preparing them for new interactions and opportunities. Although I agree that I will never live off of ice skating, the education and skills I have gained from it have opened countless doors.
Ice skating has given me the resilience, work ethic, and inspiration to develop as a teacher and an English speaker. It has improved my academic performance by teaching me rhythm, health, and routine.
It also reminds me that a passion does not have to produce money for it to hold immense value. Ceramics, for instance, challenges me to experiment with the messy and unexpected. While painting reminds me to be adventurous and patient with my forms of self-expression.
I don’t know yet what I will live off of from day to day as I mature; however, the skills my passions have provided me are life-long and irreplaceable.
