JAMB Cut-Off Marks 2021/2022: Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, (JAMB) National Cutoff-Marks/Points for all Nigerian Universities (UNIs), Polytechnics (Poly’s) and College of Education (COE’s) for 2021/2022 Admission Exercise Published.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the minimum national cut-off marks for admissions into the tertiary institutions in Nigeria for the 2021/2022 admission exercise.

Latest Update: Jamb Abolishes General Cut-off Marks, Allows Institutions To Set Their Minimum Cut-off Marks:

JAMB has abolished the idea of setting a general cut-off mark for institutions. Institutions are now allowed to set their individual minimum benchmark for admission. This was part of the decision taken at the 2021 policy meeting which was held virtually and chaired by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.

According to the JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, some universities such as the University of Maiduguri proposed 150, Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto proposed 140, Pan Atlantic University proposed 210, University of Lagos 200, Lagos State University190, Covenant University190, Bayero University Kano, 180.

In the meeting, the stakeholders also approved October 29, 2021, as the deadline for the closure of amendments for 2021 admissions.

On the deadline for the closure of admissions, the stakeholders resolved to allow the ministry to decide as they could not agree on the December 31, 2021, deadline for all public institutions, and January 31st, 2022 for all private institutions.

The meeting approved that for Direct Entry, DE, the maximum score a candidate can present is 6 and the minimum is 2 or E, as required by law.

The stakeholders also exempted prison inmates, visually impaired, and foreign candidates from sitting for post UTME exercise.

JAMB Cutoff-Mark for 2022/2023 Admission Exercise | UNI’s, Poly’s & COE’s

The Cutoff marks are to be adopted by all DEGREE [Universities], NIGERIA CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION [College of Education/Monothecnics] and NATIONAL DIPLOMA [Polytechnics] – AWARDING INSTITUTIONS.

The minimum cut off marks for admissions are as follows:

1.     PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES: 160, 

2.     PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES: 140

3.     PUBLIC POLYTECHNICS: 120

4.     PRIVATE POLYTECHNICS: 110

5.     INNOVATING ENTERPRISING INSTITUTIONS and COLLEGES OF EDUCATION: 100 respectively.

Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut-off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede said institutions, with the decision, are not to go below the minimum cut-off points adopted at the meeting for admissions.

According to him, “What JAMB has done is to recommend; We will only determine the minimum, whatever you determine as your admission cut-off mark is your decision.

The board will ensure that criteria set by Senate are strictly adhered to by the institutions’ admission officers and no shifting of goal post in the middle of the admission exercise.

The 2021/2022 JAMB Admission Exercise will still be mainly from the Central Admission Processing [CAPS] as done in 2020.

Admission processes are expected to commence in August 2020 based on the guidelines released by JAMB.

Meaning/Introduction of JAMB Regularization/Late Application/Validation/ Condonement of Illegitimate Admission

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB Regularization is the process of ensuring that the Board validates candidate’s current admission details with the school that offered admission to such candidates in their database with the aim of either granting one gateway of securing admission via direct entry or proceeding for service.

ABUSE OF REGULARISATION/CONDOlMENT: FINAL NOTICE ON ILLEGITIMATE ADMISSIONS CONDUCTED BY SOME TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS.

JAMB ADVISORY TO INSTITUTIONS ON HOW TO HANDLE THE CONDONEMENT OF UNDISCLOSED ILLEGAL INSTITUTIONAL ADMISSIONS (CUIIA) (ADMISSIONS CONDUCTED OUTSIDE CAPS 2017-2022).

The Board introduced the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) in 2017 as the transparent platform for all admissions. Regrettably, some of the institutions continued to admit some, indeed a large number of candidates (undisclosed to JAMB), thereby jeopardizing the interest of such candidates admitted through under-the-table deals. Recent events made the candidates protest the disadvantages of such non-disclosure and lack of formal recognition of their degrees.

Such Institutions are now being compelled by necessity to confess their past deeds of undisclosed admission. This Advisory is to guide the affected institutions on how the candidates can be rescued:

i. The institutions should first and foremost declare the number of candidates admitted outside CAPS by sending a formal letter of confession and disclosure (LCD)to the Registrar of JAMB.

ii. The letter of confession and disclosure should have the list of candidates attached. A copy of the letter and the list of candidates should be sent to the JAMB state office where the institution is located. The list and a total number of affected candidates for each year of admission should be specified with the Programme (i.e Course of Study).

iii. If the Board upon receiving the letter (and after due scrutiny and investigations) approves, the institution shall be contacted within 2 weeks of acknowledged receipt of the LCD.

iv. The portal is then opened for the Institution to upload the list of candidates already submitted.

v. The letter of approval from JAMB to the institution and the uploaded list shall contain the following: • the academic year for which the retroactive approval is granted;

• total number of candidates, and

• the period of grace (not exceeding 60 days) within which the affected candidates must complete the process of Condonement of Undisclosed Illegal Institutional Admission (CUIIA).

Only the candidates declared by the institutions are to visit the JAMB office and complete the appropriate form online after paying the prescribed fee (i.e) the application fee of N4,000 only is paid by those without JAMB Registration number for the year and N5,000 penalty paid by every candidate involved.

vi. The records of the candidates shall then be made available on CAPS after they have completed the online process.

vii. The Admission Officer of the Institution shall retroactively propose formally the candidates to the Head of Institution who in turn shall recommend the candidates within the specified time.

viii. The JAMB Desk officer too, shall retroactively approve the candidates on CAPS within the original list submitted by the institution. After approval, the previously illegal students will be able to print their JAMB admission letters from the e-facility on the JAMB Portal.

ix. It should be noted that the admission letter would henceforth carry the date of the retroactive approval and not be backdated to protect the Board’s integrity of the data it might have provided before the condonement.

The admission letter would also be named “Retroactive Letter of Admission” to reflect the correct history of the admission.

x. Please NOTE that only candidates on the list declared by the institutions shall be attended to at the JAMB office.

The Board shall not extend the period of grace granted to each institution. Any candidate that does not complete the process within the allotted (maximum two months) grace – period loses the remedial opportunity.

Aim/Purpose of JAMB Regularization/Validation/Late Application/Condonement of Illegitimate Admission

→The purpose of regularization is to ensure that JAMB has your current admission detail that tally with the admission/registration record in the school that offered you admission.

→This allows candidates with admission but with no prior record with JAMB ability to register on the platform.

→This Process is either called JAMB Regularization, Condonement of Illegitimate Admission, Or Late Application Method!!!

This year 2021 regularization payment/procedures are quite similar to last year’s process, the only difference is the payment mode.

Candidates Required to Regularize Admission Includes:

1. Condonement of Illegitimate Admission (with Reg. Number) / Fresh Application – Those with JAMB Reg. Nos.

These are Candidates who gain admission with a jamb registration number but do not have a Jamb admission letter. Candidates can print their admission letter for their institution/course of choice, which is now different from their course/institution offered initially. A new admission letter can be printed after processing. You must remember your Reg. Number to use this service. The use of this service cost the sum of Five thousand naira (N5,000) only.

2. Change of Admission Letter – Those with JAMB Reg Nos

These are Candidates who gain admission with a jamb registration number, but the Admission letter carries a different course or institution name from the school that gave them admission.

3. Condonement of Illegitimate Admission (Without Reg. Number) / Late Application – Those without JAMB Reg No

These are Candidates who gain admission without a Jamb registration number or his/her mode of admission does not require a jamb registration number. Example Pre-degree. Late Application: ₦3,500 and Condonement of Illegitimate Admission: ₦5,000. This requires filling out a form that shall go through the approval process. Registration Number shall be issued upon approval of the Application

Q: What Type Of JAMB Registration Number Can Be Regularize

A: jamb registration number is given to you, from the school you graduated from.

Q: I have been trying to register for this new jamb regularization, but find it difficult, have you registered any candidates successfully

Answer: Yes

Q: Can I use my phone to do the jamb regularization online?

Answer: To the best of my knowledge, it is not too okay to process forms online using the phone. If you have access to a desktop with an internet facility, it gives you a better view of the form.

Note: Any mistake you make cannot be corrected, as the stages involved in the registration exercise do not give room for one to preview what he/she had filled before final submission. Once you click on submit, that is the final submission.

Q: What is their mode of payment or how is the payment made?

Answer: Payment is done online through the use of an ATM Card.

Q: Is a thumbprint needed during the jamb regularization exercise?

Answer. No. a thumbprint is not needed.

Q: Can registration be done in the absence of someone/by proxy.

Answer: Yes currently, as long as the said person gives you his/her right information and passport.

Mind you, the information you supplied is what you will see on the final printout document.

Q: During the jamb regularization registration, I made a mistake can it be corrected?

Answer: No. if an error was observed after final submission, it cannot be undone. The only solution to it is to create a new profile and make a new payment of N8,500

NEW POLICIES ON JAMB REGULARIZATION/ADMISSION LETTER FOR NYSC PCM’S

It has been observed that some students are still facing the problem of obtaining a Jamb Admission letter. To find the solution to this problem, JAMB has directed that all concerned students should visit any JAMB Accredited Centres for regularization of their admission.

Depending on the type of problems, the following procedures are to be followed by the concerned students:

1. NO ADMISSION GIVEN YET

Students in this category should visit the JAMB Accredited Centre to fill out the “Request for Admission Letter”.

2. ADMITTED TO ANOTHER INSTITUTION

A student whose admission status is showing another institution should visit JAMB Accredited Centre to fill out the form for “Change of Admission Letter”.

3. STUDENT WITH NO UTME/DE-REGISTRATION NUMBER

This category of students needs to fill out the form for the Regularization of Admission. Those that did not have JAMB record are to print their Indemnity Form and submit it to the Registrar’s Office for processing.

Failure to comply with the above directive may affect such a category of students from being mobilized for NYSC after graduation.

JAMB NOTICE TO ALL PART-TIME / SANDWICH STUDENTS ON REGULARIZATION OF ADMISSION ON CAPS

This is to write and inform all Part-Time / Sandwich Students in all the Nigerian Tertiary Institutions (i.e Universities, Polytechnics, College of Education e.t.c) that in its efforts to have accurate data of undergraduate students in all the Nigerian Universities and other Tertiary Institutions, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has integrated the admission process of candidates of Part-Time Degree Programme into the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

Because of the above, all part-time students enrolled in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions are directed to visit the JAMB e-facility platform immediately and apply to register their documents individually (Following the Outlined Guidelines Above Illustrated with Images).

All Students are requested to carry out the process at any approved JAMB CBT Centre and fill JAMB Indemnity Form.

The form is to be endorsed and signed by the Dean, School of Continuing Education (SCE) or Part-Time Studies of your Institution after completion by the students, for onward submission to the JAMB office.

After approval of the indemnity Forms by the JAMB, students can then visit the JAMB Website to print their Admission letters and have their respective REG numbers.

Prospective Part-Time Candidates who wish to enroll in any of the Part-Time / Sandwich programs in any Nigerian Tertiary Institution MUST first enroll with JAMB by purchasing the JAMB Part-Time / Sandwich / Distance Learning Form at the cost of Three Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N3,500) only before proceeding to purchase the respective institution part-time forms.

ABOUT JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD (JAMB)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board was established by an Act of 1978, subsequently amended in 1989 and 1993. By the virtue of the Act, the Board is empowered to be responsible for them:

i) general control over the conduct of matriculation examinations into all Universities, Monotechnics, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education;

ii) appointment of examiners, moderators, invigilators, members of the subject panels and committees, and other persons with respect to matriculation examinations;

iii) placement of suitably qualified candidates in the tertiary institutions in collaboration with those institutions.

In furtherance of these functions, the Board conducts a matriculation examination for candidates seeking admissions to tertiary institutions within the country. This examination is known as the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EXAMINATION

Those eligible to sit the UTME are holders of the following qualifications or their equivalents:

i) the West African School Certificate (WASC)

ii) the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE)

iii) the National Technical Certificate or the National Business Certificate (NTC/NBC)

iv) Teachers’ Grade II Certificate

Candidates who have sat or are scheduled to sit for examinations in any of these qualifications in the year of application may also sit for the UTME

STRUCTURE OF THE EXAMINATION

The UTME is conducted once a year in the computer-based test mode. The test is a three-hour multiple-choice in four subjects, with a compulsory paper – the Use of English and three other subjects of a candidate’s choice. Prospective candidates are advised to seek the advice of their teachers, parents/guardians, or career counselors in their choice of elective subjects for the UTME.

Candidates are advised to visit the JAMB practice test window on its website to familiarize themselves with the features of the computer-based test at no extra cost.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Prospective candidates for the UTME are to note that for them to secure admissions into the tertiary education program, they have to:

·        attain an appreciable standard of a pass in the UTME in the relevant subjects;

·        have credit passes in five relevant subjects in the appropriate WAEC/NECO

·        SSCE/Teachers’ Grade II examination.

·        The credit/merit passes in question should be attained at not more than two sittings.

·        Normally, credit passes Mathematics and the English Language is required for all tertiary education courses except where it is stated otherwise. 

In addition to the general entry requirements specified above, candidates must meet any other specific entry. Candidates are therefore advised to consult the appropriate sections of the UTME/DE brochure for information about the specific entry requirements for different programs. It is also important to note that admissions are subject to general guidelines enunciated from time to time by the proprietors of higher educational institutions. Such guidelines may set out admissions quotas or implementation principles which the Board and the institutions are expected to uphold.

BEWARE OF EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE

Increasingly, candidates, examination officials, and other persons are yielding to the temptation to cheat in examinations.

Cheating (or aiding or abetting cheating) in examinations is a criminal act punishable in law. The Examination, Malpractices Decree 1999 provides penalties for persons convicted of examination malpractice.

The punishment provided includes imprisonment for 3-5 years or a fine of N50,000 or more, or both prison sentence and fine.

By provision of the decree, the following are considered criminal acts: Cheating, use of electronic device, impersonation, collusion with others with the intent to cheat or secure unfair advantage for self or for another, disturbance at examinations, misconduct in the course of an examination, failure to obey lawful orders of supervisors, proctors or agents of the examination body, forgery of result notification, breach of duty, conspiracy, aiding, multiple application, etc.

JAMB 2022 SALE / REGISTRATION PERIOD [UTME & DE]

The period of sale/registration for all candidates (UTME/DE) including those from Foreign Countries is from Saturday 19th February 2022 to Saturday 26th March 2022.

PIN vending ends Saturday 26th March 2022 while the registration portal closes on Monday 26th March 2022.

ELIGIBILITY CHECKER

Candidates are advised to check their eligibility for chosen programs and institutions on ibass.jamb.gov.ng. It is important that candidates check the requirements before commencing the application process. The eligibility checker assists candidates with options of programs (courses) based on their qualifications

JAMB GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS [UTME & DE]

A. UTME

The general entry requirements for admission into the First Degree, National Diploma (ND), National Innovation Diploma (NID) and Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes are five (5) O’Level Credit passes including English Language. Details are available in the eBrochure which would be given to each Candidate at the JAMB accredited CBT centres and State-Offices. It is also available for download at www.jamb.gov.ng and on Android Mobile App (JAMB IBASS) from the Google Play store. DO NOT GIVE YOUR PASSWORD to any centre (or Cyber Café). Any centre that asks for more than your profile code, email address and registration number is a fraudster. Do not give any password.

B. DIRECT ENTRY (NOTE: DE Registration Closes on the Same Date with UTME Application)

Candidates with one of the following qualifications may be considered for admission by Direct Entry:

(a) A minimum of O’Level credit pass in five (5) subjects at not more than two sittings with at least two prescribed subjects (for each discipline) at Principal or Advanced level. No subject shall be counted twice at both Ordinary and Advanced Level

(b) Two passes (in prescribed subjects for each discipline) at the Advanced-Level Examination of IJMB, Cambridge, JUPEB or Institute of Baccalaureate with SSCE/GCE, NTS/NBC credits equivalents in three other subjects

(c) Passes in two major subjects in the NCE with S.S.C.E., NTC/NBC credits or equivalents in THREE other subjects (mainly for Education Courses) and ND. For Education courses, Education may be accepted as a third A’ Level subject

(d) Minimum of lower credit grade in National Diploma or National Innovation Diploma and the O’Level requirements

RECOMMENDED: JAMB General Admission Entry Requirements [UTME & DE].

·         DE CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THEIR JAMB REGISTRATION

·         NUMBERS WITH WHICH THEY GAINED ADMISSION TO NCE/NID/DIPLOMA AND PREVIOUS DEGREE PROGRAMMES.

·         QUALIFICATIONS AWARDED BY EXAMINATION BODIES (IJMB, CAMBRIDGE, WAEC, JUPEB, etc) APPROVED BY NIGERIA SHALL NOT REQUIRE ANY PRIOR JAMB NUMBER.

·        REGISTRATION FOR DE CANDIDATES SHALL NOT BE EXTENDED BEYOND THE PERIOD ALLOTTED FOR BOTH UTME/DE.

CAVEAT: 

CANDIDATES SHOULD NOT TAKE UTME AND DE AT THE SAME TIME. IF THEY APPLY THROUGH UTME AND LATER OBTAIN DE QUALIFICATION, THEY CAN UPGRADE THEIR UTME TO DE AT NO COST. Double/multiple registrations attract outright cancellation and prosecution.

Candidates are not permitted to register more than once. In the event of any error during registration process, such candidates are to seek correction from the Board and not to obtain a fresh application as doing so would attract sanction.

Registration can only be done at the centres listed on our site (www.jamb.gov.ng) and pasted at JAMB offices in each State capital. Anybody who registers outside these centres does so at his/her risk.

Nobody, including parents/guardians or any proxy is allowed to transact any business on any candidate’s profile. The registration process and all activities on candidates’ profile are being monitored by the Board and defaulters shall be severely sanctioned. Any candidate who makes his password, profile code or other security codes available to another person (parents, friends, tutorial teachers, fraudsters etc) is liable for any alteration done by such person(s). DO NOT GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYBODY INCLUDING JAMB OFFICIALS. These security codes are not to be demanded at any registration centre by any person for any purpose.

JAMB 2022 ORDER OF CHOICE OF INSTITUTIONS

Every candidate is to note that the 1st choice can be a College of Education, University, Innovation Enterprise Institution, Polytechnic/Monotechnic, Nigerian Defence Academy or the Police Academy

JAMB STEPS FOR 2022 REGISTRATION

A. PROFILE REGISTRATION

i. One Cell (mobile) number (SIM) can be used by one candidate only. The Cell phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the Candidate’s name and will be used in all communications related to his/her 2022 Application, Examination/Admission. 

NOTE THE SIM-NUMBER USED. IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION

ii. Candidate will send his/her National Identification Number (NIN) by text (SMS) to 55019 OR 66019 from his/her personal GSM number. E.g. write the word “NIN” then space and add your 11 digit NIN Number and send to 55019 OR 66019 in this format (NIN 00123456789). There should be a space between the word ‘NIN’ and your 11 digit NIN (Note that the number must not have been used by another person to register for UTME/DE in the past) OR Dial *55019*1*NIN# OR 66019*1*NIN#. Do not use postpaid or special bundle SIM cards, They don’t work unless specially loaded with credit.

iii. A Profile Code of 10 characters is received by the candidate on the same telephone(SIM) number BY OBTAINING UTME/DE APPLICATION DOCUMENTS, A CANDIDATE HAS ACCEPTED TO RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES FROM JAMB (55019 OR 66019) EVEN WHEN THE “DO NOT DISTURB” IS ACTIVATED

iv. The candidate presents the profile code to the point of procurement of form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners). The form- ePIN is then sent as text message to the candidate

v. Candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for registration

vi. The application cannot be completed until the candidate’s biometric (all ten fingers) is captured and the photograph taken physically (No submission of passport photograph). The successful capture of biometrics and photograph will authorize a candidate to print his/her e-registration slip. The fingerprint shall be required for any further transaction with JAMB on the candidates’ profiles.

vii. Only candidates whose biometrics verification is successful on examination day will be permitted to sit the UTME. No parent or proxy is allowed to make any transaction on the candidates’ profile.

viii. Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB headquarters Abuja

B. SELF HELP IN CASE OF MISTAKE/LOSS OF PROFILE CODE

i. To correct a spelling error(s) in biodata, candidates should be directed to NIMC Office or JAMB Office nearest to them.

OR

To correct a mistake in the candidate’s name, send the [CORRECT Surname First-name Middle-name] to 55019 OR 66019 as a text message from the same mobile number

ii. To retrieve a lost Profile Code, send [RESEND] to 55019 OR 66019 as text message from the same mobile number

iii. Candidate can reset lost or forgotten Profile Password on their registered cell phone by sending [PASSWORD] space  the [email address] to 55019 OR 66019 as a text message from the same mobile number

C. (FREE COMPLAINT) TICKETING

For ALL complaints on JAMB processes, a candidate should create a support ticket at https://www.jamb.gov.ng, by selecting the quick link, and then Ticket/Support with his/her email address with the Board. The candidate then provides his/her name, phone number, and the nature of the complaint selects a complaint area on a drop-down and then summarises the nature of the complaint. He/she should also attach supporting documents (if available). Complaints from 3rd parties are merely noted. Letter writing is not encouraged. Rather all complaints should be channeled through the ticketing system for prompt attention and documentation.

For complaints relating to NIN (e.g a candidate sends a message to 55019 OR 66019 to create a profile but does not receive any response or receives wrong data, he/she can follow the same process on the ticketing and click on 2022 NIN related issues then select the related topic on the drop-down.)

NOTE THAT YOUR PASSWORD SHOULD NOT BE RELEASED TO ANYONE. JAMB CAN ONLY HELP ON PROFILE-PASSWORD, NOT E-MAIL-BOX-PASSWORD. YOU CAN ALSO CHECK YOUR ADMISSION STATUS ON JAMB IBASS APP ON YOUR PHONE. DO NOT CHECK AT ANY CYBER CAFÉ THAT WOULD DEMAND YOUR PASSWORD WHICH IS THEN USED TO STEAL YOUR RECORDS. “TO BE FOREWARNED IS TO BE FOREARMED”.

Candidates and the general public are to note that nobody can help with admission or upgrade of scores; they would only deceive and defraud those who patronize fraudsters.

D. JAMB ePIN SELLING POINTS

vi. PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION AT THE EIGHT FOREIGN CENTRES:

(a) Registration fee for candidates from the eight foreign countries is $20 or its equivalent in each of the eight countries

(b) Candidates from the eight foreign countries are to download the Application from the Board’s website (www.jamb.gov.ng) complete and submit it with the fee at the eight designated centres as indicated on the website

1.     Create a profile

2.     Login to the profile

3.     On the menu on the left pane, click on 2022 Foreign UTME/DE registration

4.     Go through guided questions until payment page

5.     Make payment using any of the authorized cards

6.     Complete the registration directly online

OFFER OF FREE APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

Any government, person or organization that wishes to distribute free application documents to prospective applicants is required to urgently procure the bulk e-pins from either JAMB or any approved sale outlets.

Candidates who want to enjoy any of this offer are advised to visit the sponsor’s designated banks or other e-PIN outlets (NOT ANY CBT centre) to collect the e-PIN after creating their profiles as illustrated above.

No refund would be made to any candidate if he/she had earlier purchased the application document before being offered free e-PIN. Such applicants should refrain from multiple registration.

HOW TO RECOVER LOST ePIN AFTER PAYMENT

I. If ePIN is not Received or Lost, send [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 OR 66019 for UTME or DE respectively from the unique number

ii. The ePIN would then be retrieved and delivered on the candidate’s unique number

AFTER SUCCESSFUL PAYMENT AND OBTAINING ePIN, CANDIDATE SHOULD PROCEED TO ANY OF THE JAMB ACCREDITED CBT CENTRES TO COMPLETE HIS/HER REGISTRATION.

JAMB REGISTRATION CENTRES

i. In line with the Board’s regulated registration exercise, only the accredited Computer Based Test Centres and JAMB Offices will be allowed to register candidates

ii. Each candidate should visit any accredited CBT centre (the list of accredited centres is on our

 website (www.jamb.gov.ng), with his/her personal details, the profile and evidence of payment

JAMB REGISTRATION PROCESS AT CBT CENTRES:

The candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for completion of registration. The name of the candidate as typed by the candidate on his/her phone when registering the profile comes up automatically on the input of the e-PIN by the CBT centre

Candidates are to:

i. Note that the service charge of N700 hitherto paid to CBT centres for registration (NOT MOCK) is now part of the registration fee as such,candidates are not to pay for registration. During registration, no other payment is required.

ii. Provide choice of institutions and programmes (course of study). 

iii. Provide qualification with grades and dates, if not awaiting result.

iv.Upload relevant certificates if not awaiting result (this is applicable for both UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates

v. Provide 0/L and /or A/L grades. Candidates who are awaiting results should supply (upload) the results online on CAPS (JAMB) as soon as they are available. No recommendations from any Institution will be considered by JAMB if the candidate does not upload his/her result on the portal of JAMB. No institution is allowed to take a new picture/photograph, biometrics or require any other upload of result. All results are down loadable by institutions from the Board’s website (and the download is tracked to avoid abuse). 

vi. Supply JAMB registration number for previous institutional certificates for DE only 

vii. Provide UTME subjects and choice of examination town(s) for 

a. Mock examination (optional) 

b. Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) (actual examination) 

viii. Review entries and confirm correctness

ix. Print Registration Slip USING BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION to confirm valid finger-print (UTME/DE). Note that authentication with your fingerprint removes blames of error from CB’ centres. Candidates are to check before confirming with their fingerprint. 

x. Collect, at no other cost, the reading text and CD 

xi. Collect their e-slip at the end of registration as evidence of registration 

NOTE: There will be no offline registration, as all the accredited CBT centres have been empowered for real-time online registration. No candidate should register at any centre other than the accredited CBT centre and JAMB State-Offices. Any candidate who is registered outside approved centres will be identified and disqualified.

BLIND CANDIDATES

Candidates who are blind are to indicate by typing BLIND and also picking the option of writing their examination through CBT mode or Read Examination Aloud. A candidate is either blind or sighted. It is important to be factual.

During registration, once a candidate indicates that he or she is blind, there would be a drop-down box for the candidate to select the town closest to hhis/her residence to write the exam. The towns available for the blind candidates are as follows: Abuja, FCT; Bauchi, Bauchi State; Benin, Edo State; Ekiti, Ekiti State; Enugu, Enugu State; Kano, Kano State; Kebbi, Kebbi State; Lagos, Lagos State; Oyo, Oyo State; Plateau, Plateau State; Yola, Adamawa State.

DEAF/MUTE CANDIDATES

A special indicator for the deaf/mute has been created to differentiate them for special attention at the examination hall.

Deaf candidates are therefore to confirm this appropriately during registration.

BIOMETRIC CHALLENGES

i. Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB Headquarters in Abuja. 

ii. No other CBT centre is permitted to register such candidates 

iii. They will also sit for their examination at JAMB Headquarters in Abuja 

iv. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall or sit for the examination if his biometrics is not verified 

v. The system will not permit or process any examination without biometric verification 

vi. Candidates with Biometric abnormality can only register and take examination at the Abuja headquarters of the Board. The Board will facilitate the travels.

JAMB 2022 DATES AND VENUE FOR UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION

The 2022 CBT Examination will commence on Saturday 6th May, 2022 to Monday 16th May, 2022.

The venue of the examination will be at any centre in the candidate’s chosen examination town(s)

JAMB DOES NOT POST ANY CANDIDATE TO ANY EXAMINATION TOWN (OR GROUP OF TOWNS) OTHER THAN THE ONE CHOSEN BY THE CANDIDATE AT THE POINT OF REGISTRATION. CANDIDATES ARE, HOWEVER, ADVISED TO REGISTER ON TIME BEFORE THE AVAILABLE SPACES IN THEIR TOWN OF CHOICE OR GROUP OF TOWNS ARE EXHAUSTED AND THEREFORE NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

JAMB REGISTRATION FEE/PROCUREMENT OF REGISTRATION ePINs

Registration Fee is Three Thousand Five Hundred (N3,500) Naira Only. Additional Five Hundred (N500) Naira only, is paid to obtain the reading text “The Life Changer” by Khadija Abubakar Jalli for UTME Candidates and for DE Candidates. Seven Hundred Nara (N700) is regulated and charged for CBT Centre service charge and $20 for Candidates from the eight foreign centres.

A CD containing JAMB eSyllabus, eBrochure and other vital materials is also given free

Candidates should note that ePINS purchased are tied to individual profile and are not transferable

Candidates are advised to keep as private and confidential their security details such as registration numbers, password/numbers of ATM Cards, email addresses and ePINs. 

No centre is allowed to request for or accept a candidates password.

JAMB 2022 OPTIONAL MOCK-EXAMINATION

The Board will also conduct a mock examination in all the accredited CBT centres to prepare and familiarize INTERESTED Candidates with the CBT environment. Interested candidates are advised to indicate their interest in the mock examination during registration provided it is on or before 19th March, 2022.

JAMB 2022 MOCK Registration Period: 19th February, 2022 to 26th March, 2022

The date for MOCK examination is Saturday 9th April, 2022.

Non-JAMB CBT Centres are allowed to collect, through their bank accounts, a separate Seven Hundred Naira (N700) only, for mock exercise from only interested candidate(s) after notification of centre has been received by the candidate(s).

The payment for mock examination by the candidate shall be made to the centre to which the candidate is assigned after the notification of assigned centres for the mock examination. No Association or body is permitted to run any mock examination on behalf of JAMB.

DO NOT PAY FOR MOCK UNTIL JAMB ASSIGNS YOU TO A CBT CENTRE. NO ONE SHOULD PATRONISE FRAUDSTERS, MANY OF WHOM ARE NOW IN CUSTODY FOR DEFRAUDING PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES. ONLY JAMB ACCREDITED CBT CENTRES CAN DO VALID REGISTRATION AND SERVE AS EXAMINATION CENTRES

JAMB GENERAL INFORMATION

All candidates must mandatory register their profiles through text messages as illustrated above before proceeding to buy the ePIN

The registration fee is non-refundable

As it is the practice, centres are allowed to charge not more than Seven Hundred Naira (₦700) only as registration fee. Any centre that charges more than Seven Hundred Naira (₦700) should be reported to JAMB for appropriate sanctions

All CBT centres have been mandated to select any of the participating banks, MMOs, MFBs, etc.

These financial institutions are to be present at the CBT centres for the purpose of collecting all fees.

No CBT centre staff is allowed to conduct direct cash transaction with the candidates

Using Biometric Verification to login by Candidates for examination

·        Only candidates who are biometrically verified successfully would be able to login for examination

·        Any Centre/one which allows candidate(s) into the Examination Hall and cannot login would be held responsible

Minimum of one (1) Hour Duration in the Examination by any Candidate

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Monday 24th January 2022 revealed that registration for the 2022 JAMB UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) will commence by February 12, 2022. Registration for the 2022 Direct Entry examination also known as DE will commence on the same date as JAMB (February 12, 2022).

The JAMB board made this notice clear in its weekly bulletin. This information was made public in Abuja by the JAMB Director of Public Relations, Dr. Benjamin Fabian.

The board announced the events through the bulletin as follows.

• The UTME/DE registration begins 12th February 2022
• The UTME/DE registration closes on the 19th of March 2022.
• MOCK Examinations (Preparatory Examinations) to take place on the 20th April 2022.
• JAMB UTME holds from 20th to 30th April 2022.

With this notice in place, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 2022 Examinations will begin on the 20th of April and end on the 30th of April. This therefore means the Exam would last for just ten Days.

Here are 3 Important things to note about JAMB 2022.

• There will be no extension of registration deadline. Students are therefore advised to stick to the timeframe given by JAMB.
• Students are to prepare adequately to avoid low scores as the average performance in JAMB 2021 was not encouraging.

The JAMB Board has also promised to refund the sum of N4,000 to candidates who paid but were unable to register successfully in the 2021 Unified Tertiary matriculation Examinations(UTME) and also Direct Entry (DE) Examinations.

In their words, “This is to inform all 2021 candidates who had paid a draft of 4,000 Naira for late registration… but were not able to complete the registration which wasn’t a fault from the board. The JAMB Board had extended the registration twice, to make adequate changes to the Board’s website and complete a form for the refund of the value of the draft they submitted to the Board.”

“The above candidates are to click on the link 2021 UTME/DE Unregistered Candidates Bank Draft Recapture and fill the spaces after which they would key in the token sent to the phone numbers they had submitted during the submission of their drafts.
It is this token that would be used to access a form on which they will fill in their account details for the refund of the value of the draft. Candidates are to provide these details within the next two weeks from the date of this publication.”

“A text message containing OTP has been sent to the affected candidates besides this notification, “the bulletin added.
