BSU Hostel Racketeering & Student Accommodation Fraud Alert

Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi Hostel Racketeering and Student Accommodation Fraud Alert Notice: Warning Thereof to Purported Sellers and Buyers of Bed Spaces.

It has come to the knowledge of Students’ Affair of Benue State University that, some students who have confirmed hostel reservation details and allocation slips of the online hostel exercise for the 2020/2021 academic session have already advertised or negotiated for or intend to transfer their allocation permit by way of the sublet.

The Division writes to remind students residing and or allocated hostel bed spaces that, the sale of bed spaces at Benue State University is highly prohibited. For the avoidance of doubt, subletting or swapping of accommodation is prohibited and would not be condoned. It is a breach of the terms of “offer” of the application and equal amounts to MISCONDUCT trial able and punishable by the Students Disciplinary Committee.

Defaulters will automatically forfeit their bed spaces to the University in line with Part 8 Rule 1 of the Regulations; while the acquiring student shall perpetually be “Blacklisted’ from future hostel enlistment and both shall face disciplinary action of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.

Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi Disclaimer on Academic and Non-Teaching Recruitment Exercise Notice for 2021 Session.

The attention of Management of Benue State University, Makurdi has been drawn to a purported publication circulating on social media platforms that the University is currently recruiting academic and non-teaching staff.

The management wishes to state that such information is false and the handwork of social media miscreants and fraudsters who are out to misinform job seekers and the general public, therefore should be disregarded out rightly.

The public should note that the last recruitment exercise in the University was in 2019 and that was for Teaching staff only.

Furthermore, the public should note that anytime the University embarks on any staff recruitment exercise, information would be communicated to the public through formal channels of information dissemination.

BSU Makurdi Pre-VTS Admission Form 2021/2022 is Out

Benue State University (BSU) Makurdi Pre-VTS Admission Form, Courses, Requirements, Application Guidelines, and Deadline for 2021/2022 Academic Session.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Preliminary Vocational and Technical Education Programme, Faculty of Education, Benue State University, Makurdi for the 2021/2022 Academic year.

Available Programmes

Entry Qualifications:
To qualify for admission, candidates must meet general and specific requirements to the individual pre-VTS areas of specialization.

a. General Entry Requirements
Candidates are required to possess a minimum of four (4) credits in SSCE, GCE, NTC, NBC, C&G I or II, Federal craft Training Certificate TCII or any equivalent qualification as may be approved by the University.

A credit in the English Language is compulsory.

b. Specific Requirements:
i. Business Education
In Addition to general University entry requirements, Applicants must have credits in English language, Mathematics, any other 3 subject forms Social Sciences and Business Studies related courses, and Economics from SC/GCE/WASSCE/RSA Business Studies (Stage ii intermediate).

ii. Computer Education:
Four credits level passes including Mathematics, English language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in SSCE/NTC/GCE O’ level Examination.

iii. Home Economics:
Four credits in English language, Mathematics, Biology, and any two of the following subjects: Home Management, Clothing and Textiles, Food Nutrition, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Economics WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/O’level/NTC.

iv. Technology Education:
Candidates must possess a minimum of four credits in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/O’level or NTC NBC or Federal craft certificate. This includes credits English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any one of Social Sciences or Technical drawing and technological subject areas such as Woodwork, Metalwork Electronic Electrical installation.

    Interested candidates are required to pay an application fee of five thousand Naira (5,000) Only, in bank draft made payable to Benue State University, Makurdi. The bank draft should be converted to receipt in the Bursary Department. Application forms are then obtained from the office of the Coordinator, Preliminary Vocational and Technical Studies (Pre-VTS), on presentation of evidence of payment of application fee.

BSU Matriculation Gown Payment & Collection Details 2020/2021

Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi Matriculation Gown Payment, Issuance & Collection Guidelines and Procedures for all Fresh/Newly Admitted Students for 2020/2021 Academic Session.
This is to inform all Fresh and registered Students of the Benue State University, BSUM that they are hereby requested to visit their respective faculty officers for the payment and issuance of matriculation gowns from Monday 7th February 2022.

Each student is expected to collect a matriculation gown on payment of One Thousand Naira (N1000.00) non-refundable fee at Fidelity Bank Plc, Account Number: 5030023693 and Zenith Bank, Account number: 1011136506.

Candidates are to present the bank receipt to their Faculty Officers for collection of the items above.

Faculty Officers are to keep receipts of gowns issued to candidates.

The Academic Office (Store Officer) will issue appropriate matriculation gowns to the Faculty Officers for onward lease to registered fresh students of respective faculties who have paid the fee of N1000.00 as stated above.

All Principal Officers, Provost, College of Health Sciences, and Senate members are to detail a staff to collect their Academic gown from the Academic Office (Stores Officer) for the ceremony, please.

Fresh students should return matriculation gowns to the Faculty Officers for onward submission to the Store Officer on or before 14th February 2022.

Late return of gowns will attract a fine of N100.00 per day payable to the Bursary Department of the University.

Newly admitted students into undergraduate programmes for the 2020/2021 Academic Session are by this announcement enjoined to complete all registration processes on or before the exercise.
Matriculating students are to further that all days for the Orientation and Matriculation ceremony are lecture-free days for them. This is to give them adequate time to participate fully in these events for their good while at the University

BSUM Post-UTME Screening Form 2021/2022 | How to Apply for Post UTME

Benue State University, Makurdi (BSUM) Post-UTME Admission Screening Form, Eligibility, Cut-Off Marks, Requirements, Application Guidelines, and Deadline for 2021/2022 Academic Session [UPDATED].
This is to inform all Candidates interested in gaining admission into Benue State University Makurdi for the 2021/2022 Academic Session that the sales of admission form have commenced.

Registration commences from Monday 28th March 2022.

ELIGIBILITY
All Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates who applied for admission into the Benue State University, Makurdi for the 2021/2022 Academic Session and scored 150 points and above in the UTME are eligible to participate in the Post UTME exercise of the University.

All candidates who applied for Law but scored between 150 and 199 are to take their PUTME in Faculty of Arts, while candidates who applied for Medicine and Surgery but scored between 150 and 199 are to take their PUTME along with Anatomy, Nursing, Physiology, and Faculty of Science.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
To participate in the Post UTME exercise, candidates are advised to pay a non-refundable Post UTME registration fee of two thousand nairas (N2,000.00) only using the following online payment modes:

Candidates shall be required to:

  • Visit www.bsum.edu.ng
    Go to the Admissions menu, click on the Post Utme/Delink under the Applications section.
    Enter your JAMB number to verify your application.
    Once your details have been verified click on the “proceed “ link to continue to the payments platform.
    Click on any of the three (3) payment options below to make your payment. which is either
    (I) For cash payments at Bank; Visit any of the following Bank Branches nationwide to make payment.
    Fidelity Bank Plc.
    Zenith Bank Plc.
    ECO Bank Plc.
    Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.
    Sterling Bank Plc.

Visit any ATM terminal with your ATM card and do the following:

Select Quickteller from the ATM menu
select pay bills
Fill in the Payment reference number generated from the E-Payment platform when you are requested to enter the Customer ID
Fill in 04255101 when you are requested to enter the Payment Code

After completing the payment, return to the portal to login and print out your Payment Receipt

Visit the Quickteller website www.quickteller.com/bsum while applicants for courses in the College of Health Sciences should visit www.quickteller.com/chsbsu to complete their transaction.
Enter your Registration number
Enter your email and mobile number and click “continue”
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete your payment
Print out the payment confirmation slip
Return to the portal and print out a payment receipt.
Note: This payment option attracts additional N100.00

B: Registration
After payment, candidates are expected to revisit the University website www.bsum.edu.ng and still select “Post UTME/DE” under the “Applications” section under the Admissions menu of the University website. Once on the page, candidates are to follow the steps below to complete their registration:
Enter your UTME Registration number and click the “Verify” button to verify your details.
Click on the “proceed” link to log in to your account to register and upload relevant credentials online for the Post-UTME exercise.
Click on the “My Bio Data” link to complete your Biodata.
Click on the “Upload Documents” link to upload the following documents:
WAEC/NECO/NABTEB Certificates or statement of results (not online slips).
Birth Certificate/Declaration of age.
Marriage certificate/affidavits.
Certificate of State Origin.
JAMB Result slip.
Click on the “Acknowledgement Slip” link to print two (2) copies.
Candidates are expected to present the Acknowledgement Slips on the day of Post UTME.
Candidates must upload their O’level results on the JAMB portal. Only candidates whose O’level results are on the JAMB portal will be given admission after passing all the prescribed examinations.

This is to inform all Direct Entry candidates who are seeking admission into the Benue State University that the sales of form for the Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for 2021/2022 have commenced.

The procedure for payment and registration for the Direct Entry screening exercise is as follows:

Candidates shall be required to pay a non-refundable Direct Entry screening/registration fee of two thousand nairas (N2,000.00) only using the following payment procedure:
