Aim of the Competition:
The National IT Whizkids Competition is to revive the interest and drive of youths in Information and Communication Technology. The competition is organized by NCS and other partners for SSS1 and SSS2 Nigerian Students. Applicants are to participate in the competition which is fully on Information Technology related subject matter.

Eligibility Criteria:
The Competition is open to all SS 1 and SS 2 students in all Nigerian Secondary Schools (Public and Pprivate).
The entry application must be filled and submitted online via Nigeria Computer Society website www.ncs.org.ng

Quiz Coverage:
Computer Studies Syllabus as approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria and emerging trend in technology. A highly Recommended textbook is the Hiit Data Processing Textbook for Senior Secondary Schools.

Registration Procedure:

• To enter, interested applicants must currently be enrolled in any secondary school in Nigeria.
• Each school should register at least two (2) applicants to represent the school in the competition.
• Each school is to pay a non fundable registration fee of two thousand Naira (₦2,000.00) online using the name of the participating school as payee
• Entry applicants must fill the competition application form via ncs.org.ng.
• Entry applicants are to submit their evidence of registration fees payment and electronic copy of their passport with the online form.
• Application Portal Opens- 13th January, 2022 and Closes, 13th of April, 2022.
• Quiz at State level will be held from May 2nd – 4th, 2022.
• Quiz at Zonal level will be held from June 13th – 15th, 2022.
• Quiz at National level will be held from July 5th, 2022 and the results will be announced that same day.
• Peradventures there is a tie in the scores; another quiz will be fixed to determine the winners.
• Winners will be officially recognized and awarded during the NCS Annual Conference.
• Any costs or expenses incurred by entrants for participating in the competition are at the applicant’s account. The organizers will only provide the prize for awardees.
• The decision of the panel of judges is final and is not subject to any form of appeal with regards to selection of finalists.

General Modalities:

1. The State level competition shall be by Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Zonal level competition will either be physical/virtual (as much as possible all the IT competitions at this level will be online except in a situation where this may not be visible)
3. National level competition will be held virtually (on-line).
4. Five candidates are to emerge at State level competitions (i.e. 1st – 5th positions from each states shall qualify for Zonal Level Competition)
5. Four candidates are to emerge at the Zonal level competition (i.e. 1st – 4th position are qualify for National Level Competition)
6. Three candidates are to emerge at the National Level Competition.
7. Each candidate that qualifies for national level will be given a certificate.
