Our KDS scholarship is awarded annually to students who demonstrates an outstanding results in their studies. Share the breakthrough moment that led you to pursue a graduate degree. Have you overcome a hardship, or had an incredible moment? Tell us about it! The KDS contest Scholarship is awarded to a graduate students who applies and matriculates to a graduate program participating in the KDS application. We release our scholarships twice a year on June 1st and on December 1st.

Eligibility

All applicants must have:

  • Any graduate and undergraduate students can apply
  • 2.5 or better grade point average
  • Apply to a graduate program using the KDS application
  • Matriculate to a program at a participating college or university
  • Applicants should be a commencing student registered as full-time for on-campus study

Limura Peace Endowed funding for Asian Students

The Iimura Peace Endowed Scholarship is a $5,000 fall award that recognizes an international student with the intent to promote peace in Asia. This award is intended for international undergraduate students from Asia with preference given to students who lived or attended school in East Asia or students who have lived or attended school in Asia.

Eligibility

GPA requirement: undergraduate 2.0 or above and must be in good standing with your academic department.

  • Have completed 2 semesters before the disbursement of the award.
  • Essay of Involvement (500-1500 words, typed, double-spaced that addresses:
  1. What is your definition of promoting peace in Asia? Give examples.
  2. What organization/projects have you participated in that promoted peace?
  3. How do you plan to promote peace in your community based upon your experience here in the U.S.?
  • Service Project
  1. Must be willing to complete a service project within one year of receiving the scholarship.
  2. Service projects will need to be submitted for approval.
  3. Service projects submitted must promote peace in the community, either here in Austin or your home country.
  4. After the completed service project, a report must be submitted along with a photo or video.
  • More details on Service Projects will be given to the recipient once awarded.
